Plymouth, WI (August 2, 2025) – In only his fourth GTD race, Robert Wickens continued to impress by securing a second-row starting position for the second consecutive event, this time at Road America. Competing with DXDT Racing in the 2025 IMSA sprint rounds Road America marks the fourth of his five scheduled appearances this season. Wickens faced significant challenges during preparation, as both practice sessions were heavily disrupted by red flags, limiting him to just 23 laps of track time ever at Road America in the Corvette Z06 GT3.R. He was able to lean on the experience of his teammate Alec Udell who won at Road America with DXDT Racing in the SRO World Series in 2024. Even with minimal seat time, Wickens made the most of one of his favorite circuits, showing both speed and adaptability heading into Sunday’s race. The MOTUL SportsCar Championship will air live on NBC’s Peacock in the USA and on IMSA’s YouTube channel internationally. The green flag falls tomorrow, Sunday at 1:10pm CST.

Robert Wickens: “I’m satisfied. Honestly, I’ve been having a hard time getting up to speed here this weekend and the DXDT team has had my back all weekend. Alec (Udell) and Bryan (Sellars, Team Manager) and Pratt Miller, I’ve definitely benefited from their support. I talked with Tommy (Milner) between practice two and qualifying, I just picked his brain because I feel like I am constantly chasing trying to get caught up with this car as track time has been limited. I am happy with the time I did. Going into the session, I thought as long as I did a mid: 2.04 I could be satisfied and I beat that. Obviously I want to be further up, but starting fourth, we can play from there. We’re a great team and we’ll have a good strategy. I feel like my race pace is better than my qualifying pace, so I am looking forward to racing tomorrow.”
